Most cities are designed for car drivers and therefore offer few opportunities for children and senior citizens to enjoy their city. In fact, there are not enough places for children to play apart from playgrounds. For seniors there are only a few places to sit and rest. Especially elderly people who are impaired due to illness or disability have a need for places to rest and regain some strength.
Under the motto: streets should offer the possibility to be lived in, Paris is trying to transform some selected areas to provide a more healthy and liveable way of street life, even in crowded cities. In two out of 20 districts of Paris the project has already been implemented, further such streets will follow soon, in four other districts.
The streets are designed to increase the space for pedestrians and to encourage gentle mobility. The following design elements help to do so:
The Neighborhood Days Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, and for the organization of the event the Hipodrom Street will be closed. At the Neighborhood Days festival, Dioda neighborhood residents are expected to spend time at their children's workshops and asphalt paintings, measuring their blood sugar and blood pressure, watching dance demonstrations, participating in the treasure hunt - Tag the Flag;;;, or just spending time in the park or on the terrace set up on the Hipodrom Street.
"Grădinescu" is the project developed by Kaufland together with its partners from the Institute of Research on Permaculture in Romania, and it is the first project in Romania which promotes the care for nature, and supports the development of urban gardening through its own example. Also, “Gradinescu” aims to familiarize children and adults with gardening and the ease of having a healthy diet even in the urban environment.
Like every year, June 1st is about children. Iulius Mall Cluj is awaiting for the people to spend a memorable day, with all kind of events. The puppet theater, movie screenings, aerobic sessions and many other fun activities are some of the gifts that children will enjoy at the Kiddy Festival in Iulius Park.

The festival will take place on the "BT Street", which is located on the Lipscani Street, in the historical center of Bucharest.
For the second consecutive year, Lipscani will turn into BT Street. The festival will consist in: dance shows, mime, improvisation, pantomime, outdoor concerts, parades, theater plays, painting exhibitions, storytelling, and for the first time, Chess demonstrations.
The Colors Association in Brasov continues the events with the “journey with the time vehicle” in the world of play and entertainment. Starting on June 28th, the association organizes a series of creative workshops, sports activities, street animation, huge balloons and many surprises on every Saturday in “Tractorul” Sports Park.
Continuing the project initiated five years ago to promote arts and culture, the Institute for Management and Sustainable Development (IMDD) organizes the “Children's Street”, bringing together teenagers and children from 3 to 14 years old. The "Children's Street" concept is based on a set of cultural and educational workshops designed to introduce young people to the art world and non-formal education, and to help them develop their skills. Next year, the project will bring together representatives of the media, non-governmental organizations and companies.
