Every three years, the Institute of Chartered Foresters partners with academic institutions and chartered institutes to host an international cross-discipline conference on urban greenspace.

The conference – Trees, People and the Built Environment (TPBE) – provides a platform for the UK and international researchers and practitioners to showcase work in these areas and helps both built and natural environment professionals turn this research into action on the ground.

The 4th International Conference on Climate Change 2020 (ICCC 2020) to be held from 27th – 28th February 2020 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM).  ICCC 2020 is a platform for eminent researchers, scientists, industry experts and all interested scholars to discuss and share current policies, implementations, data streams about climate change. Street Opening in Zürich

The new encounter-Zone in the Metamorphosis-Neighbourhood "Tiefenbrunnen" in Zürich was inaugurated with a street-opening. Seven parking spaces were also permanently removed in the course of the implementation. This gives children the opportunity to play on the street and to use the street as public space, as meeting place. This promotes both neighbourhood-ness and child-friendliness.

Broadening Pedestrian Areas with the Help of Parklets

Eight car parking spaces were turned into liveable parklets for residents in Munich to sit down and relax. The parklets remained from July to September 2019 and provided plants, furniture, bicycle parking, a bookcase, a little blackboard and in one case even a small sandpit for children. Previous to the implementation, neighbours were involved and their concerns and contributions were considered in the planning. “Godparenthoods” for the plants (including watering and taking care of the plants) created even further citizen involvement.
