A Kindlint (child route) is a child friendly route which connects playgrounds, schools and other locations for children. The Kindlint makes it safer for children to walk through the neighbourhood (without their parents). The first Kindlint in The Netherlands has been implemented in Spaarndammerbuurt, Amsterdam.
On the 22 of September in front of the Klex-Klusemann School and Kindergarten a
temporary playstreet was implemented in Graz for one day. In the context of the Car-free day
children got the chance to use the street for play. The organisation Fratz Graz accompanied the measure.
The conclusion of this intervention is that the street in front of the school can be used for a wide range of
activities. Children can enjoy the space for fun activities and thus public space can be used for something else that for parking cars.
Dear future is the European Social Innovation Week which will occur for the 5th time, this year. The event will take place between the 23rd -29th of September 2017, across various locations of the city of Tilburg. Dear future is a festival which brings people together in order to explore the future. The festival demonstrates what opportunities can be achieved through social innovation. The festival consists of innovative expo's, lectures, meet-ups and the presentation of the Social Innovation Award.
PLYGRND.city is an organization which creates 'games' in the public spaces for people to have fun, meet new people, have fun with friends, bring them into motion, and for them to experience their city differently. Also known as Urban Playgrounds, these 'games' can be found at parks, squares, stations and many other various public spaces. Games are designed to match specific themes or 'DNA' of specific cities. Allowing games to be applicable, and hopefully successful, to specific cities.
