Wednesday 11th December, 15:00-15:50 UK time (16:00-16:50 CET), including Q&A session

Background
School Streets and street openings are an effective way to create child friendly cities and neighborhoods. However, it is not always easy to consult the different stakeholders involved, and plan for these interventions so that they have wider impact.

Contents
Carolyn Ireland from Southampton City Council, Josh Allen from Sustrans and Dr. Alan Wong from the University of Southampton will outline some of the tools used to consult a range of stakeholders, which can include children and young people, local residents and other community groups.
This webinar will provide practical guidance on how to plan, consult and implement child- friendly street trials, as well as encourage local residents to engage and take ideas forward, with the support of local policy makers at the City Council.
This webinar will also provide answers to the following questions, and includes a further 20-minute Q&A-session afterwards:

1. Who are the stakeholders you should consider?
2. What does ‘consulting’ mean? How can you engage stakeholders authentically?
3. What tools are available to help you engage stakeholders, including children and the local community?
4. How do you maintain children and young people’s interest in participating in child-friendly streets and similar initiatives?
